Call PruneWorldItems() before sectorinfo gets written to the save file.
Resetting the SF_ITEM_TEMP_FILE_EXISTS would not transfer correctly into the save file.
* Use ConvertGridNoToCenterCellXY instead of CenterX & CenterY
* Add direction utility function
We have a lot of places in the code that calculate direction based on center cell coordinates, but lack a utility function for it similar to other direction methods.
* Use utility function for calculating direction
* Use ConvertGridNoToCenterCellXY
* Use utility function for direction
* Use ConvertGridNoToCenterCellXY instead of CenterX & CenterY
* Use ConvertGridNoToCenterCellXY instead of CenterX & CenterY
* Remove CenterX & CenterY functions
Use ConvertGridNoToCenterCellXY instead
* Remove CenterX & CenterY calls from UB configuration
* Address review feedback
* Remove duplicate function
ConvertGridNoToCenterCellXY and ConvertMapPosToWorldTileCenter do the exact same thing
* Use PythSpacesAway instead of GetRangeFromGridNoDiff
Both functions calculate the same thing
* Remove GetRangeFromGridNoDiff
* Remove calls to abs()
The values end up being squared anyways making these unnecessary
* More unused stuff removal
delete:
- giant 'metaheaders' (JA2 All.h, Laptop All.h, etc), preferring to add #includes directly where needed
- unused ExceptionHandling and DbMan translation units
- unused WizShare.h, Bitmap.h, trle.h, video_private.h headers
* remove mentions from vc proj files too
* remove preprocessor conditionals for unused definitions
find . -iname '*.h' -o -iname '*.cpp' -exec unifdef.exe -m -UPRECOMPILED_HEADERS -UJA2_PRECOMPILED_HEADERS -UWIZ8_PRECOMPILED_HEADERS -UPRECOMPILEDHEADERS {} ';'
then manually fixed a couple files the tool errored out on
* yes, the comments too
as title
Adds timing logs to savegame function, similar to how we already had in loading a save file.
Uses a global struct for unloaded sectors' inventory instead of using map item temp files every time unloaded inventory is accessed.
From timing loading and saving functions with a save that has dozens of sectors with hundreds of items each, saving is a little bit slower than before, because map item temp files have to be written to disk just before the save, when that wasn't the case before (from ~0.3 s -> ~0.5s). It is offset by a decrease in loading a game (from ~1.1s -> 0.745s), once an older save is saved at least once. Any unloaded sector inventory access during gameplay is considerably faster and for example the autoresolve lag when militia is using sector equipment is completely gone for me.
Preserves save game compatibility

0 = Drop All is off and drop chances are used
1 = Drop All is on and everything is dropped
2 = Mild Drop All which means that everything is dropped (like 1) but items that are usually not dropped (like 0) are severely damaged.
git-svn-id: https://ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2/trunk/GameSource/ja2_v1.13/Build@8675 3b4a5df2-a311-0410-b5c6-a8a6f20db521
- Fix: When dropping an item in strategic inventory, height values are not set
- Fix: When looking for a valid gridno to drop items t via strategic inventory, WORLD_ITEM_REACHABLE is not reliable, as updated map topology trumps this. Instead rely upon finding a valid gridno once the sector is entered.
- Fix: when searching for a new item dropoff gridno, search for new height too
- Fix: if items are spawned mid-air, the player cannot retrieve them

Bugfixes (by anv)
- autofeeding bug,
- drop items on dismiss optimization,
- effectiveness of suppression was increased/decreased with every influenced soldier if set to other than default 100,
- item status changed to INT16 on item create - item status is also used to specify amount of money (*50), if NPC had a lot of money in his starting gear, its amount would be incorrect.

- Minor code improvements and cleanup
- Fix from r6775 is no longer necessary.
- Code improvement: Instead of calling inv.size() repeatedly, just call it once and remember that value
git-svn-id: https://ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2/trunk/GameSource/ja2_v1.13/Build@6829 3b4a5df2-a311-0410-b5c6-a8a6f20db521
- More map editor fixes and map inventory pool performance improvement for big maps.
Details:
- Fix not showing expected messagebox on exit (ALT+x) which also throw exception and goes to improper mapeditor exit.
- Fix second annoying sticky message which shouldn't popup during map loading and performing RemoveProhibitedAttachments.
- Fix CTD when delete all enemies or civilians or all of them in map.
- Fix some std exception when reporting for missing optional xml file.
- Fix memory and map corruption in old mapeditors if loaded old map has item with invalid attachment and we try to attach something else.
- As years ago pInventoryPoolList had migrated from WORLDITEM* array to std::vector<WORLDITEM> it was time to do that with gWorldItems too, all necessary functions which need to be adopted to gWorldItems std::vector type are also changed.
- Resize code for gWorldItems is changed hoping will lead into less corruption problems as now could occur in mapeditor and game when code automatically doing attachment changes.
- Change code for handling map inventory which now should be fast enough to support AIMNAS project which will probably deal with thousands of items per map.

- improved processing of sector stash (opening/closing)
- improved loading speed of save games
- improved processing of items droped by militia (most noteable after autoresolve)
- and some other code related changes

Notes:
removed some functions, still in code so but renamed to *_OLD() because they are from Sirtech and should be kept as I have read in "§18) If possible, we don't just delete the old code, but comment it out (or #ifdef it out) for reference. We delete it only if it's really necessary."

o This JA2 demo executable is as close as possible to the original JA2 demo, but with the 1.13 features!
--> No laptop, disabled strategy actions, auto merc hired, only P1 maps, ...
o To build the 1.13 executable, just enable the "JA113DEMO" define in builddefines.h
o The 1.13 demo executable will read from ja2_Demo.ini instead of ja2.ini
o You also need the "Data-JA2Demo" folder from the official 1.13 SVN GameDir: https://ja2svn.dyndns.org/source/ja2_v1.13_data/GameDir
o Once you start the game with the demo executable, you will notice the "START DEMO" instead of "START NEW GAME" in the main menu
o Multiplayer is disabled in the demo executable
- There is another new define called "JA113NODEMO" (by Jazz)
o See builddefines.h
o If this define is enabled, a special version of 1.13 is build
-> Disable all meanwhiles, emails, blocked quest with queen, alien queen
git-svn-id: https://ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2/trunk/GameSource/ja2_v1.13/Build@5287 3b4a5df2-a311-0410-b5c6-a8a6f20db521
Development Trunk: https://ja2svn.dyndns.org/source/ja2/branches/Wanne/JA2%201.13%20MP
A detailed list of all the features (changes) is visible in the history log of the development trunk:
INFO: The source code for the official 2011 release (4870) has been branched here:
https://ja2svn.dyndns.org/source/ja2/branches/JA2_rev.4870_2011
This commit contains the following features:
*** Externalized Vehicles ***
o Now with this feature we can add/remove vehicles
o New XML File: TableData\Vehicles.xml
o Added a new function parameter to lua file Scripts\Overhead lua to set up the helicopter in method: SetUpHelicopterForPlayer()
o Added example mini (Docs\Externalized Vehicles Example.zip) mod which adds 2 additional vehicles (hummer and ice-cream truck to sector A9)
*** Up to 255 save slots ***
- There is a "Next" and "Prev" button where you can scroll through the save slots
- It is now possible to load the automatic save (SAVE_EVERY_N_HOURS) from the load screen. This is the first slot after the quickload slot
- Added the 2 alternate players end turn saves (which can be enabled/disabled in option screen) to the save/load game form
*** New Feature: Externalized emails from Emails.edt to XML***
o This feature can be enabled/disabled in the Source:
--> See email.cpp: If "ReadXMLEmail" == FALSE, then normal way (read from Email.edt) otherwise read from XML files
o 2 new XML files: TableData\Email\EmailMercAvailable.xml and EmailMercLevelUp.xml
o Renamed SenderNamesList.xml to EmailSenderNamesList.xml and moved from TableData folder to TableData\Email folder
o Names for mercenaries are get from the file MercProfiles.xml and different names get from the file EmailSenderNamesList.xml
*** Externalized Hidden Towns (Tixa, Orta) ***
o Now it is possible to add new hidden towns (locations)
o See file: TableData/Map/Cities.xml
o New variable in TableData/Map/Cities.xml
- hiddenTown: 0 = show on strategy map, 1 = Hide on strategy map
- townIcon: 1 = on, 0 = off (This is the icon you see on the strategy map)
- szIconFile: The path to the sti icon file (eg: interface\prison.sti, interface\my_icon.sti)
- iconPosition: The x,y position of the icon on the strategy map
*** Encyclopedia and Briefing Room, reachable from the laptop ***
o 2 new ja2_options.ini properties: BRIEFING_ROOM, ENCYCLOPEDIA
o demonstration video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CIXdXWLrAo
o Added Example usage of the Briefing Room
- Extract it in your JA2 1.13 folder and use the latest development executable
- The briefing room can be reached from the laptop. Enter SN5631 for the code and then click the "Exit" button
- See "Info_BriefingRoom.txt" and "BriefingRoom_Mission1.png"
*** Improved interrupt system (IIS) ***
o This system changes the way interrupts work. See: http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=290787#Post290787
o Option system (see ja2_options.ini: IMPROVED_INTERRUPT_SYSTEM)
o A few more settings for the interrupt system in ja2_options.ini
o INFO: Multiplayer games always use the "old" interrupt system, not matter what the user selects in the ja2_options.ini
*** Walking and sidestepping with weapon raised ***
o Enable/disable the walking/sidestepping with raised weapon in ja2_options.ini: ALLOW_WALKING_WITH_WEAPON_RAISED
o You can set an AP/BP modifier when walking/sidestepping with weapon raised in APBPConstants.ini: AP_MODIFIER_WEAPON_READY
o The following feature apply when you walk/sidestep with weapon raised:
-> limited angle of view, but you can see more farther when the weapon has a scope
-> better change for interrupts if you see an enemy
-> less APs and BPs when shooting, because the weapon is already raised
-> It should cost more APs when walking. Maybe you can export the additional AP and BP modifier to the APBPConstants.ini
*** Increase squad size to 8 (800x600) and 8 and 10 (1024x768) ***
o Squad sizes (dependend on the screen resolution) can be selected in the start new game screen
o In a multiplayer game, the squad size will always be 6, because it does not work with more soldiers/squad
*** Added UB-1.13 source code ***
o Merged the UB-1.13 source code (Revision: 4721) from svn: http://subversion.assembla.com/svn/ub-source113
o If you want to build UB-EXE or UB-MapEditor, just enable the 2 defines (JA2UB and JA2UBMAPS) in "builddefines.h"
o The UB-Verion reads from "ja2_UB.ini" instead of "ja2.ini"
o There are 2 new XML files
- Layout\LayoutMainMenu.xml
- MapAction\ActionItems.xml
o There are 2 new LUA-Script files
- Scripts\ExplosionControl.lua
- Scripts\InterfaceDialogue.lua
*** Hide enemy health text / enemy hit count ***
o ja2_options.ini: HIDE_ENEMY_HEALTH_TEXT, HIDE_ENEMY_HIT_COUNT
o both new settings only have effect in a singleplayer game
o see: http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=128840&page=1
git-svn-id: https://ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2/trunk/GameSource/ja2_v1.13/Build@4885 3b4a5df2-a311-0410-b5c6-a8a6f20db521
o After some investigation I determined that the one of the files in the temp folder was being written to repeatedly and on top of that opening and closing over a 1500 times
o Instead of writing to in memory arrays before writing to disk its opening many temporary files and appending data to them repeatedly
o I rewrote part of the code so that it only opened the files once and wrote to them and would create them fresh when it did.

- Virtual File System (VFS) by birdflu. This is needed for Multiplayer and is also used for Single Player. Very neat system :-)
- Multiplayer Version 1.1 + some additional features and bugfixes
* INFO: If you compile a new EXE and want to test, be sure to also use the latest SVN GameDir files in your JA2 install directory *
git-svn-id: https://ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2/trunk/GameSource/ja2_v1.13/Build@2961 3b4a5df2-a311-0410-b5c6-a8a6f20db521
Fixed old-style behavior when creating a soldier struct (caused memory corruption and leaks)
Fixed soldiers unable to fire if an error happened while firing the off-hand weapon
Fix animation system problems with soldiers interrupted while changing stance, such as twitching and not being able to navigate around obstacles
Prevent splitting money while an item is in the hand, which would result in losing the original item
Fix reverse of X,Y when checking visibility through a roof, which could make soldiers falsely visible/invisible
Prevent militia from simply waiting on the border when enemies are known to be in the sector
Fix stack overflow for soldier inventory debug display
Optimized A* pathing and cleaned up VS2K5 specific code
AI can now use all climb points for climbable buildings, not just a random few
Fix to not allow flat roof butted against slanted roof to be identified as a climb point
Prevent soldiers who cause an interrupt from a special action from continuing on their path after being interrupted
Prevent soldiers who enter or leave deep water from moving a space too far and turning back
Prevent soldiers from trying to crouch while in shallow water
Make soldier turn in the closest direction when he must get up from prone and turn then fall back to prone
Allow a soldier to swat for a tile before returning to prone if unable to return to prone immediately after a turn
Fix civilians that should show up in a sector, missing because of others that aren't
Fix a memset on a C++ class
Place Skyrider in a sector near his helecopter once available and the helicopter is present
Fix soldier corruption if too many shots burst-spread into too few tiles
Include both first and last tile in spread when some locations must be skipped
Fix to shoot at last location in burst
Fix to remove other previous spread locations when calculating a new spread
Fix to reload or rechamber off-hand when necessary, such as having a pistol shotgun in that hand
git-svn-id: https://ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2/trunk/GameSource/ja2_v1.13/Build@1532 3b4a5df2-a311-0410-b5c6-a8a6f20db521
Made direction variables more consistent as unsigned chars. Several function prototypes updated for this.
Many memory leaks plugged: External options, video overlays, laptop file lists, tactical message queue, strategic pathing, autobandage, merc hiring, detailed placements, crate in Drassen, tactical placement
New functions and attributes for soldiers in LUA (still for debugging at best): Soldier.APs (current APs), Soldier.changestance (changes stance, uses game heights)
File catalog ignores .SVN directories (game load speedup)
Fix CTD in mouse regions
JA2 window now refuses to move to negative coords
Checks to prevent DirectX-related infinite loops due to minimizing and task switching
Invading enemies should now appear on the borders even when reinforcements disabled in .ini
Suppression should no longer work on mercs in medium water
Infant/Young creatures use restored spit instead of Molotov
Creatures begin with their 'guns' (spit) 'locked and loaded' (cartridge in chamber)
Further fix to AXP and AlaarDB's weapon ready check: Now 'firing' is always counted as 'ready'.
Prevent mercs from falling and flying back through obstacles
Check whether battle group is even set before testing its location for battle setup
Burst spread locations now limited to 6, the limit within the soldier struct
Extra burst spread locations zeroed out so that they aren't used unless necessary
Spread code now only shoots at locations in the spread, and will shoot at all 6
Only mercs in the sector where autobandage happens will be made to stand up after it's done
Throwing a grenade at the tail of the plane in Drassen should not result in a CTD
Reset attack busy count when loading a new sector
